For #SmallBusinessWeek2020, I want to highlight the work , Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Centre has done since the beginning of the pandemic, and continues to do.
When businesses had to close in March, Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Centre in #Vaughan stepped up to care for the children of frontline employees.
From March until June, the staff at Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Centre offered childcare 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to nurses, doctors, and other frontline employees so they could keep working.
I visited Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Centre in Vaughan where the co-founders of HopIn Tech were donating 3,000 masks to help keep the staff and children safe. Irini Mikhael, CEO of Lullaboo Nursery and Childcare Centre and the 2019 Canada’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Award Winner, said supports from the federal government like the Canada Emergency Business Account and the Canada Emergency Wage Subsidy have helped cover their fixed expenses and kept employees on the payroll.
It was encouraging to see how businesses in our community are stepping up and coming together to help fight the spread of COVID-19. Small businesses are the heart of our communities and the backbone of the Canadian economy.
